Dr. Joe Murphy
A former Buddhist, Dr. Murphy is now a Presbyter in the Diocese of Pittsburgh within the Anglican Church in North America. He received a PhD in Historical Theology from the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies of Drew University, and a Diploma in Anglican Studies from the Virginia Theological Seminary. He has served as a pastor in a number of congregations, and is currently active in prison ministries, including Kairos, as well as a number of community outreach programs. He has served as past Director of the Anglican Studies Program and Director of Clergy Credentialing & Deployment for Anglican Mission in America, and is currently an Examining Chaplain in the Diocese of the Great Lakes in the Anglican Church in North America. Dr. Murphy adjunct teaches at Wheaton College, Aurora University, Reformed Episcopal Seminary, and Northern Seminary. His writings include The Fountain of Life in John Calvin and the Devotio Moderna (Academica, 2010), and contributed a number of articles in The ESV Women’s Devotional Bible (Crossway, 2014).
