In 2021, he stepped out of the Director of Homiletics role to focus on other ministry commitments. Dr. Eswine continues as an adjunct professor at Covenant and with FSI while also serving as Lead Pastor at Riverside Church (EPC) in Webster Groves, Missouri, where he has served since 2008. Additionally, Dr. Eswine leads and writes for Sage Christianity, a ministry focused on bringing doubts and questions into conversation with the wisdom of Jesus.

In addition to his service at Covenant and Riverside Church, Dr. Eswine and his wife, Jessica, serve ministry leaders and those who doubt by opening their home and pursuing the wisdom of Jesus for the questions of life. Dr. Eswine serves on the board of Pastors in Residence Ministries and on the board of Webster-Rock Hill Ministries. As past moderator of Mid-America Presbytery (EPC), Dr. Eswine teaches advanced-level courses in pastoral leadership, apologetics, and preaching at various seminaries.
