Dr. Ellis is Academic Dean and Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology at ITS. Prior to ITS, Dr. Ellis was Executive Editor for Sola Media’s Modern Reformation magazine, capping a nearly fifteen-year career in Christian publishing.
Dr. Ellis is a theologian specializing in systematic and historical theology for scholarly and popular audiences. His writing and teaching stress theology not as mere doctrinal information but as wisdom for knowing God, and seeing all things in his light, by faith in Jesus Christ. His books include Calvin, Classical Trinitarianism, and the Aseity of the Son (Oxford University Press), and the forthcoming Beholding the Face of God: A Christ-Centered Introduction to the Divine Attributes (Crossway).
Dr. Ellis has had the privilege of serving as a PCA ruling elder for ten years. He’s active in his local church (Westminster Presbyterian, Muncie) in teaching, service, and hospitality. He has three lovely kids (one daughter and two sons) with his college sweetheart, Kate.
